Hello to all,
This is my first blog of 2025, and it reflects the natural tendency of most Americans to have a resolution for the New Year. I saw one in a meme state. They will only watch things in 1080p or higher from now on. It is their New Year’s resolution. This is my kind of nerdy joke.
Through the years, I heard people make resolutions to become healthier, wealthier, or even find a soul mate. Since becoming a Christian well into the last century, I have had only one resolution. Every celebratory end to the old year sees me confirm my need for Christ. As January first rolls around again, I urge myself to be closer to God. This is my goal for this year, like countless years before. This resolution will only change when I can achieve perfect closeness with the almighty.
To achieve this majestic ambition, I am prepared to study my Bible. This means going more reflective than merely reading and diving into the meaning of each passage. Then, I apply the meaning to my life, bringing me a little closer to loving God with all my heart. This allows me to love my neighbor as myself.
While I know I will never achieve this goal in this life, I am fond of the knowledge that God will achieve it for me in my next life. He will make me whole and perfectly responsive to his love.
